A Multi Split Air Conditioner is a type of split system that allows multiple indoor units (2 to 5 or more) to be connected to one outdoor unit. It offers flexible and energy-efficient cooling or heating for multiple rooms or zones without needing multiple outdoor units.
How It Works
-
A single outdoor condenser is connected to multiple indoor air handling units (wall-mounted, cassette, ducted, etc.).
-
Each indoor unit can be controlled independently—you can set different temperatures and modes in different rooms.
-
Uses refrigerant piping (not ductwork) to deliver cooling or heating.
Components
-
Outdoor Unit – compressor + condenser coil
-
Multiple Indoor Units – evaporator coils + fans (one for each room)
-
Refrigerant Lines – connect indoor and outdoor units
-
Control System – remote or wall-mounted thermostats for each zone
Ideal For:
-
Homes with multiple bedrooms
-
Offices or clinics with multiple rooms
-
Small commercial spaces
-
Apartments where space for multiple outdoor units is limited
